Digital Marketing in daily life to an Observant man

Digital Marketing examples is significant in every sphere of life. Even if we all have realized or not-we can recall a few of these instances which I will share here. These intriguing observations astonised me. These were existent all the while but started realizing it from a whole new perspective. This was once I entered into the digital marketing agency. 

Have you ever got mail/ promotional messages from OTT platforms for subscription? Obviously. But it’s mostly sent on Fridays and not on Mondays. After Friday it’s the weekend and that’s when we are going to crave for entertainment- there’s more chance of subscribing. If promo mails/ messages are sent on Monday it will go unnoticed. So strategy of email marketing can be easily comprehended.

If we add something to “cart” in any marketplace and let it remain like that. In other words we haven’t paid and checked out; we get to see the same products in our meta newsfeed. This is also true when we have just searched on Amazon or Flipkart. By this I mean retargeting prospects is one key element for a successful meta ads or campaigns.

Isn’t it fascinating that my mom in her mid 50s is the apt target audience for the youtube ads of supplement health drinks. Whereas I’m the target audience of trading/ investment firms and credit card providers. 

At one point of time or the other we all have searched “restaurants near me” in google maps. We might have gone to those where the rating was better, where there was a phone number to call and even might have checked their website. We were able to check the menu card, see the ambience and thought of going though it was a bit far away. The owner must have done a GMB listing for the restaurant since there is physical existence of the business property.

At times we look for a website of a jewellery store even though we know there is a physical store. By this we get to know quality, design and estimated price. This becomes the significance of any e-comm website. This facilitates footfall in retail showroom (for those who stay nearby). Even cashless purchase via payment gateway (for those at far away places) is fingertips away.

Even while searching for an online course to pursue and upskill knowledge we search like “best digital marketing course” in Google search bar. We get to see both sponsored ads and not sponsored ads. Where in most of the Upgrad course comes at the top or within first 3 rankings with a sponsored tag. This is a Google ads which is to onboard a student. Of course in one of my blogs I will share my journey with them as a student of MICA course. Whereas if someone is trying to get a fair enough idea of “types of digital marketing”- he will again go and use google search engine. But to note, sponsored ads will not be shown as it’s a mere query. This will not generate revenue. 

But few names will always be at the top of search since they have better SEO Google ranking. We will in most of the cases get good enough knowledge by clicking and reading articles from the first 5-6 websites and never ever going to look for page 3 onwards websites. This in turn and back of the mind will help us develop an image of the website aka the brand/ institute that its credible and reputed. This creates online presence and helps in branding.  For this we need not pay anything to google since it’s organic. it’s based on what we write/ how we write the matter with use of appropriate content keywords.

Presently many of the B2C sectors are implementing these simple ways to do digital marketing. These are just few digital marketing examples. Each and everyone of us is either a lead or prospect or buyer/ user or referrer of some product/ service at any point of time.
